Black Obsidian Palm Stone

$76.99 CAD

A polished black obsidian palm stone — oval, flat, and smooth enough to rest in the palm of your hand without friction. Obsidian is not a crystal at all: it is volcanic glass, formed when lava cools so rapidly that no crystalline structure has time to develop. The result is a perfectly amorphous solid — atoms frozen in place before they could organise.

The blackness of obsidian is total, unlike most dark minerals that show hints of colour in thin sections or bright light. It achieves the deepest blacks of any natural material because of its amorphous structure and trace iron and magnesium content. The polished surface is reflective but not quite mirror-like — there is depth to it.

Palm stones are specifically shaped for holding. The oval form fits naturally in the hand without any edges, making them the format of choice for meditation, anxiety work, and tactile grounding.
