Black Obsidian Tumbled

$71.99 CAD

A set of three tumbled black obsidian stones — smooth, deeply black, and grounding in the hand. Tumbled obsidian is the accessible format: the raw conchoidal fracture (which produces razor-sharp edges) has been rounded away, leaving smooth surfaces that show the glassy depth of the material without any handling risk.

Obsidian is volcanic glass. The total blackness comes from iron and magnesium within the rapidly cooled lava — and the opacity is complete. Unlike tourmaline or onyx, which may show slight translucency in very thin sections, obsidian is genuinely opaque and fully black through its entire mass.

In crystal work, obsidian is used for protection, shadow work, and truth — the reflective black surface has served as a scrying mirror since Aztec and Mesoamerican cultures. It is a stone that does not let you avoid what you need to see.
